Best Offshore Betting Sites is an independent comparison site covering offshore sportsbooks that accept US players. This page explains who runs it, how the rankings are built, where the money comes from, and what we will never tell you — because on a subject with no US regulator standing behind it, how a site reaches its conclusions matters as much as the conclusions.

Our focus is payout speed and payout reliability. Plenty of pages rank offshore betting sites on the size of the sign-up bonus. We think the question that actually decides whether an offshore sportsbook was worth using is simpler: when you ask for your money, does it arrive, how fast, and at what cost?

The one thing to understand before anything else

Offshore sportsbooks are licensed outside the United States — commonly in Curaçao, Panama or Costa Rica — and accepting US customers is not the same as being authorized to serve them. For a US bettor, offshore sports betting sits in a legal grey area. These sites are not licensed by any State Gaming Commission or Gaming Control Board, so none of the protections attached to regulated online sportsbooks apply: no segregated player funds backed by a state regulator, no state dispute-resolution process, no regulator that can compel a payout if a book stalls or refuses.

That risk is real, not theoretical. An offshore sportsbook can slow-pay, cap a withdrawal, void a bet under its own house rules, or close an account, and your recourse is the operator's own complaints process. Laws also differ state by state — some states have fully regulated online sportsbooks and racebooks, others restrict or prohibit online betting entirely, and the rules around players using offshore betting sites are not uniform. Check your own state's law before you deposit, and treat anything you read here, including tax points, as general information rather than legal or financial advice. Consult a qualified professional for your situation.

Betting is entertainment and money you can lose. It is not income, not a plan, and no tip, model or "value" line is a lock. You must be 21 or older to use this site (18 where a particular sportsbook sets that minimum and your state allows it). If gambling stops being fun, call 1-800-GAMBLER. Offshore operators frequently lack the deposit limits, cool-off periods and self-exclusion tools that regulated US operators are required to provide — our responsible gambling resources cover the tools that do exist and the independent help available.

How we're funded, and what that does and doesn't buy

We earn commission when a reader signs up with some of the sportsbooks listed on changeheroes.com. That is how the site pays for itself, and you should know it before you read a single ranking.

Commission does not buy position. Rates are negotiated separately from the editorial score, the person writing a review does not see what a brand pays, and we list operators we have no commercial relationship with where they belong in the ranking. Where an operator's record on paying customers deteriorates, it moves down or comes off, commercial deal or not. We would rather lose the revenue than carry a recommendation we would not give a friend.

What we assess, and how we weight it

Every sportsbook is researched, verified against publicly available evidence and re-checked on a schedule. We do not claim to have deposited, wagered or withdrawn — there is no testing bankroll behind these pages, and anyone telling you otherwise on this subject is usually reprinting an operator's marketing. Our editorial ratings are our own opinion scores, not customer-review averages.

Where a claim is the operator's own advertising rather than something we could verify, we say so. Where a question is genuinely unresolved, we say that too. Findings on this page were last fact-checked Sep 24, 2026 by Tara Whitfield, and time-sensitive details — bonus terms in particular — change without notice, so confirm them on the operator's own terms page before depositing.

Three of the sportsbooks we cover, and why

The full ranking sits at the top of our lists. Three examples show the kind of trade-off our write-ups are built to surface.

Lucky Rebel — our highest-rated, on banking breadth

Lucky Rebel holds our top editorial rating of 10.0, driven by crypto-first banking and a broad market menu across NFL, NBA, soccer and MMA, with live betting alongside the pre-match board. The welcome offer is 125% up to $1,250 plus a 50 FreeBet — new accounts only, and like every offshore welcome bonus it carries rollover, minimum-odds and expiry conditions that decide whether the money is realistically withdrawable, so read them on site before you opt in. The limitation: it is a newer name relative to the long-running operators below it, which means a shorter public record of paying out at scale. A high score from us reflects what is verifiable now, not a guarantee of how it behaves in two years.

Bovada — the longest-standing name here

Rated 9.9. Bovada's draw is track record and recognition among US bettors, plus a deep props and same-game parlay menu on the major American leagues. Its welcome bonus is 50% up to $250 — modest next to the headline figures elsewhere, which usually means lighter rollover, though the wagering requirement, minimum odds and time limit still apply and should be checked. Limitations: pricing on mainstream sides is not the sharpest offshore, limits on niche markets can be tight, and winning accounts have been known to see restrictions.

BetOnline — for odds shoppers and live betting

Also 9.9. BetOnline earns its place on pricing and breadth: competitive lines including reduced-juice options on some markets, wide in-play coverage, and a racebook alongside the sportsbook. The welcome offer is $250 in free bets, subject to rollover, qualifying-odds and expiry terms. Limitations: the interface is dense for newcomers, and fiat withdrawal routes are slower and more fee-exposed than crypto — if payout speed is your priority, that gap matters.

Money in, money out — what to expect

Opening an account is free. The cost of taking part is what you deposit and what you lose, plus any fee attached to moving money.

  • Cryptocurrency. Usually the fastest route in and out at offshore sportsbooks, and often the only one with a free-withdrawal allowance. Network fees apply, and crypto prices move — a payout denominated in coin can be worth less in dollars by the time it lands.
  • Bank cards. Commonly accepted for deposits, frequently declined by US issuers, and rarely available as a payout route. Some sites reserve specific bonuses for card deposits.
  • Bank wire. Typically the option for larger withdrawals. Slowest, and usually the most expensive in fees.
  • Money transfer and courier check. Offered by some operators for fiat payouts; expect fees and multi-day timelines.
  • Voucher or player transfer. An account-to-account mechanism some sites use to move funds between players. Understand the terms before relying on it.

Withdrawal limits, per-method minimums, free-withdrawal frequency and processing windows vary by sportsbook and change. KYC matters here: offshore verification is often lighter than at a regulated operator, but almost every site will request ID before a first sizable payout. Uploading documents early removes the most common cause of a delayed withdrawal. Advertised payout windows are the operator's claim, not a measured result, and they exclude the time verification takes.

What's actually on the board

Coverage at the sportsbooks we rank generally spans:

  • US leagues: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and college sport — point spread, moneyline, totals, futures and prop bets
  • International: soccer across major and secondary competitions, plus golf, tennis and MMA
  • Bet types: parlays, same-game parlays, teasers and live in-play markets, with pricing that varies sharply between operators
  • Racebook: horse racing wagering, sometimes with rebates, sometimes excluded from bonus rollover

Most of these operators run on mobile browsers rather than app-store betting apps, since offshore sportsbooks generally cannot list in US app stores. A responsive mobile site is the realistic experience; treat any "app" claim as something to verify.

The other side of these operators

Nearly every offshore sportsbook here also runs a casino, live dealer tables, poker and often esports, under one wallet. This matters practically: casino wagering usually contributes differently to rollover, or not at all, and sports and casino welcome offers are frequently separate — BetUS, for example, advertises a sports bonus alongside a smaller casino bonus, each with its own terms. Our publisher also maintains casino coverage, including casinos outside the UK self-exclusion scheme, which is a different market with different rules from US-facing sportsbooks.

Who this site is for

  • Bettors in states without a regulated online sportsbook, who want an honest read on the trade-offs
  • Value seekers after better pricing, higher limits or markets regulated operators restrict
  • Crypto users prioritizing payout speed
  • Anyone who wants bonus terms stated plainly rather than a number in a big font

It is not for anyone under 21, anyone betting money they need, or anyone chasing losses. If that's where you are, stop and call 1-800-GAMBLER — it's free, confidential and available 24/7.

Getting in touch

Corrections are welcome and we act on them. If an operator's payout behavior has changed, or a bonus term on one of our pages no longer matches the site, tell us through our contact page and we'll re-check it. Our terms of use set out the limits of what this site is: research and opinion to compare against, not a recommendation to bet.
